Before you telephone us or anyone else please have as much of the following information available as possible: Male/Female?: Colour: Type/Breed: Size: Age: Name: Coat type: Neutered?: Collar: Disc: I.D. Chip: Date and time lost/found: Where lost/found: Distinguishing marks As you can imagine, we have thousands of lost and found animals on record and the more accurate the information on file the more chance we have of re-uniting a lost pet with its owners. If you would like to change any of this information or add to it you can phone us at the Shelter. IF YOU’VE LOST YOUR PET If possible bring us a photograph of your pet. You could also advertise in the newspapers and the shops. If you would like some help putting together a lost poster please contact the Shelter as we have them ready made. If you get your pet back without us knowing would you please let us know so that we can amend our records which will make it easier for other people’s pets to be found.
AS WELL AS REPORTING YOUR LOSS TO US IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU VISIT THE SHELTER TO ENSURE THAT YOUR LOST PET IS NOT HERE. REMEMBER YOUR DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DOG OR CAT MAY NOT TOTALLY MATCH OUR DESCRIPTION, THEREFORE IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU VISIT US AND ANY OTHER SHELTER AT LEAST TWICE PER WEEK IF YOU’VE FOUND A DOG OR CAT Please contact the Shelter. Someone may already have reported it missing. Also look out for advertisements in your local shops and the newspaper. If you have found a dog or cat and would like to keep it you are entitled to do so as long as you have reported your find. If it is not claimed within 28 days it becomes your legal property. |
